This secluded vintage venue features artistic and poetic gardens inspired by love, imagination and tranquility. Nestled among tall forests, vibrant floral gardens and cascading streams, San Diego’s premiere wedding venue hosts one beautiful wedding per day.

Once you stroll through the garden gates, you are surrounded by twinkling rose arbors and soothing waterfalls with lush established landscape, reminiscent of an elegant old English garden.

This turn-of-the-century historic landmark estate is set in total seclusion with an Old San Marcos Schoolhouse dating back to 1889 embraced by a towering forest that dates back well over 100 years. The unique statuary, flora and fauna fill every corner of this magnificent garden. Its completely private garden gazebo is set in the shade of the historic landmark forest.

The grand tented pavilion showcases towering peaks of chiffon gathered overhead with crystal chandeliers and intimate lighting. Surrounding it are cozy garden nooks and soothing sounds of the waterfalls setting a tone of peace and tranquility.

This historic estate hosts one wedding per day and typically books 18 months in advance with very limited availability prior to 18 months. We are currently accepting reservations through 2019.

Couples searching for an out-of-the-box venue that is completely private - and not just another golf course, winery, or hotel – find Green Gables very refreshing. We are open to outside vendors, caterers, and creative design ideas.
Recently, a total restoration and beautification of the historic Richland House (circa 1889) has created a graceful backdrop to the Landmark Garden setting.

The Richland House has fresh white interior and exterior paint. The luxurious Bridal Parlor can easily accommodate even the largest wedding party. The newly completed East Lawns for Ceremonies feature a fully-restored wooden garden gazebo set among turn-of-the-last-century forests and fountains. The addition of hundreds of newly planted trees and white rose arbors create an enhanced private English garden setting.

We have upgraded our Tented Pavilion to include a dreamy chiffon gathered liner that billows over 30-foot-tall peaks. Illuminated by ambient lighting, the Tented Pavilion includes custom carpeting to create a quiet, upscale dining ambience. A thermostatic heating system insures total comfort for all. The Tented Pavilion creates the ideal setting for an outdoor garden wedding with all weather and no worry.
